Finding The Right Cost Of A Small Business Phone System

When setting up a small business, one of the primary needs is going to be a Small Business Phone System.  Phones are the lifeline to the world for many small businesses, but the costs associated with having them can be simply astronomical.  The important thing is to find a system that meets the needs of the business, but doesn't go overboard, and to find a price that is reasonable, with sacrificing all-important reliability and consistency.  In order to accomplish both of these feats, small business owners have many options, including voice over Internet provider, of VoIP service, cell phone plans for employees, and the traditional land line systems that typically carry multiple extensions.

VoIP plans are becoming more and more popular because of their relatively low price and ease of use.  Because the cost of providing the service is so low, providers can add in extra features that most owners would leave out of a Small Business Phone System, due the extra cost.  One such feature, for example, is an automated attendant.  How professional would a small businessman feel having an attendant answer his phones?  VoIP plans can provide just that.  The key is having reliable Internet connection.  If a business is located in a rural area with questionable access to high-speed and high-performing Internet, then it may be best to stay away from VoIP and go to a different type of phone system.

Another popular Small Business Phone System is cellular plans, or that is, having employees carry cell phones that the company provides.  Depending on the use of the phones and the contract package negotiated by the business, this may well be the least expensive way to ensure access to the most important decision makers and employees in the company.  This type of plan would be great in any service-oriented business where clients must be able to call in at a moment's notice and speak with someone.

Then, there is the traditional Small Business Phone System: the land line.  Landlines are not yet obsolete, although it would appear that the world is generally moving in that direction.  Some land line packages are reasonable priced and make sense; others are simply way overdone and cost too much for most small business owners to use.  As other choices are the way of the future, it is good advice to learn about new technology!

My boss is so stubborn. He refuses to shop for a new phone system but today he needed to make a call and could not get a line. That's why I am here. He blew his to and told me to learn what we needed to know.

I never thought I would need to worry about a new phone system for my business. We have grown so much in the last year that our four line system is just too small. I need that many lines just for incoming calls.
